Timothy Nelson

Dr Timothy Nelson is Lecturer in Social Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. His research focuses on low-income, non-custodial fathers, as well as congregational studies and African American religion. His most recent publication is Every Time I Feel the Spirit: Religious Experience and Ritual in an African American Congregation. His next book is tentatively titled Marginal Men: Fatherhood in the Lives of Low Income Unmarried Men (with Kathryn Edin and Laura Lein). Nelson received his PhD in sociology from the University of Chicago in 1997 and has also taught at Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania.
  

 

Raewyn Bassett

Prof Raewyn Bassett is a sociologist at Dalhousie University in Canada. She has used qualitative software for more than 10 years on a variety of research projects, including clinical drug trials, social demonstration projects, case studies, focus groups, ethnographies, and scoping reviews. One of her main interests is the influence of qualitative data analysis software on methodological development. She is currently interviewing researchers in the province of Nova Scotia about their use of qualitative software, their support networks, and how the software has informed their development as researchers. Dr. Bassett teaches graduate qualitative methods courses and often incorporates a range of qualitative software, including ATLAS/ti, HyperRESEARCH, MAXqda, NVIVO, and Transana. 
  

 

Rodney Hopson

Rodney K. Hopson is Hillman Distinguished Professor, Associate Professor in Sociolinguistics, Ethnography, and Evaluation, Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership in the School of Education, and faculty member in the Center for Interpretive and Qualitative Research, Duquesne University. Hopson’s research interests lie in social politics and policies, foundations of education, sociolinguistics, and ethnographic evaluation research. 
  

 

Chirakkal Easwaran

Dr. Chirakkal Easwaran is a Professor of Computer Science at the State University of New York at New Paltz, in New York, USA. His professional interests span computational mathematics, computer communication networks and software development.
  

 

Tom H. C. Anderson

Tom H. C. Anderson is the Founder of Anderson Analytics. He is named one of the industry's "Four under 40" market research leaders by the American Marketing Association in 2010. Tom is also prominent blogger, recognized authority on social media, and the founder of Next Gen Market Research (NGMR), one of the most active networking groups for market researchers on the Web. He lectures regularly at universities and industry conferences, and has published widely in trade journals and decision science publications. Tom holds an MBA in Marketing, Finance and International Business from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Economics from Lund University, Sweden.
  

 

Maria Cristiane Barbosa Galvão

Maria Cristiane Barbosa Galvão is a Professor at Faculty of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). She obtained her PhD in Information Science from the University of Brasília (2003) and a Master in Communication Sciences from the University of Sao Paulo (1997). Her research fields include specialized languages, terminology, scientific and technical texts; information and knowledge organization and representation. Her current research project is about information production, organization and representation on patient records. She publishes articles and chapter of books on epistemology of information science, characteristics of specialized languages, thesaurus construction and information analysis.

Ng Lee Luan

Dr Ng Lee Luan obtained her PhD in Applied Linguistics. Prior to that, she was also trained in the field of teaching and learning of English as a Second Language. At the moment, Dr Ng teaches postgraduate courses related to research methodology and second language acquisition at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya. Her current research interest includes computer assisted language learning, online learning, second language acquisition, the use of computer assisted qualitative data analysis system in deciphering data in qualitative research in health sciences. She is also a certified trainer for the software, NVivo and has been conducting workshops related to the use of computer software in qualitative data analysis to postgraduate students as well as academic staff members of universities.
  

 

Chang Kam Hock

Dr. Chang Kam Hock is an associate professor at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University Malaysia Sarawak and a trainer and consultant of QSR International Pty., Australia for qualitative research computer software like NVivo. He is also a member scholar of the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology, University of Alberta and an advisor to Merlien Institute, Singapore for Computer-Aided Qualitative Research.   Dr. Chang supervises master and doctoral degrees and actively conducts qualitative research. He also actively presents papers in scientific conferences and workshops both nationally and internationally and reviews the manuscripts of several journals, which include the Qualitative Health Research journal, SAGE.
  

Michael Jones

Dr Michael Jones has been an academic teaching and researching in areas of organisation, business and management for ten years. Michael has developed research interests in two principle areas; studies of qualitative methods, particularly in the field of grounded theory and computerised techniques for qualitative data analysis; and, organisational behaviour, concentrating in areas of organisational psychology and behaviour. Michael has written extensively in both of these areas, particularly on qualitative methodologies and methods. Michael received his PhD in organisational behaviour from the University of Wollongong.
  

Lim Chap Sam

Prof Lim Chap Sam is an Associate Professor in mathematics education at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia. She taught mathematics in secondary schools for 8 years and lectured at a teacher training college for one and half year before joining USM in 1993. She was awarded Asian Scholar (2004-5) and Fulbright Scholar (2008-9). She has published numerous research articles, focusing on cross-cultural study, public images of mathematics, teaching mathematics in second language, and Lesson Study as a professional development tool for mathematics teachers in both international and national journals. She is a promoter for qualitative research methods, particularly computer-aided qualitative data analysis.
  

Vignesh Ilavarasan

Prof P. Vigneswara Ilavarasan is an Assistant Professor Assistant at the department of Humanities & Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. He specializes in sociology of work and industry with special emphasis on Information Technology & India. He is trained in sociology and an expert in quantitative & qualitative methods and tools (SPSS, Spread sheet, and QDA). He is recipient of Outstanding Young Faculty Fellowship of IIT Delhi (India) and has contributed to international journals and conferences of repute. He is also open to academic research collaborations and consulting.
  

Wu Mei

Prof Wu Mei is an Associate Professor at the department of communication at the faculty of social science and humanities at the University of Macau, China. Her research area cover online journalism and publishing, news analysis, media technology, communication and societal change. She is currently a member of the Executive Board of the China New Media Communication Association (CNMCA). Prof Wu Mei also publishes extensively in conferences and journal papers.
  

 

Paula O'Kane

Paula received her PhD in 2004 at the University of Ulster (UK). She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago in New Zealand and a registered QSR International NVivo trainer. She has extensive experience giving CAQDAS training to PhD students. Her current research focuses on computer-mediated communication and its impact upon the organisational environment. She is interested in the processes and consequences associated with the use of email and the intranet within internal communication from the efficiency in the organisation to the individual’s personal effectiveness.
  

Annie Cheng

Annie Cheng is the first NVivo listed trainer in Hong Kong. She is a research staff member of the Hong Kong Institute of Education and intensively uses CAQDA packages in her research. After receiving her Bachelor of Engineering from the University of New South Wales in Australia and  graduating from her Master of Science in Educational Leadership at the University of Leicester in UK, she are studying the doctoral programme with the University of Bristol. Annie has conducted training workshops and provided consultation for qualitative research with CAQDA. She actively introduces CAQDA to researchers and provides support to their use of the packages. Furthermore, she publishes and reviews manuscripts of several education journals including  International Journal of Leadership in Education.
  

Elson Szeto

Dr. Szeto is a member of the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology in the Hong Kong Institute of Education. He is an elearning developer involved in the development of institute-wide blended/online learning and professional development and utilising Information and Communication Technologies for the  enhancement of learning and teaching.  His research interests include curriculum,  ICT and learning, and assessment. He holds  NVivo  and ATLAS.ti workshops for  academics and  research teams  in higher education institutions.  He also actively participates in international conferences on CAQDA and qualitative research. His research interests are innovative pedagogy, blended/online learning designs and impacts of ICT on learning, teaching and assessment.

Alberto Crescentini

Alberto Crescentini, PhD is Professor of Educational Sciences at the Alta Scuola Pedagogica (ASP) of Locarno and visiting professor at the Università Cattolica S.C. of Milan. He teaches Educational Search Methodology since 2004 and from 2008 he coordinates the research activities of Alta Scuola Pedagogica. His research interests lie in research design topics and in interviews with “special” subjects (e.g. militants, dirty workers, child) remembering that, in any case, all the subjects are special. As for software, he usually work with Atlas.ti and T-LAB. For for both of them he gives courses to PhD students at different universities. 
  

 

Brigitte Smit

Brigitte Smit (PhD) is Associate Professor in the Department of Education Studies. She coordinates the Masters and Doctoral Research courses, teaches Qualitative Research, CAQDAS, Atlas.ti and Curriculum Studies, serves on national and international editorial boards and has published in national and international journals. Brigitte was the recipient of the Outstanding Reviewer Award from American Educational Research Journal in 2009. She is a member Scholar of the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology at the University of Alberta since 2009 and a member of the advisory board for computer aided qualitative research (European Chapter) for Merlien Institute since 2008.
  

 

Silvana di Gregorio

Dr. di Gregorio is a sociologist who founded SdG Associates after 20 years in academia.  She consults and runs training courses in a variety of software packages supporting qualitative analysis in the UK, Europe and USA.  She is particularly interested in integrating the teaching of qualitative analysis software within qualitative analysis courses and has recently designed such an online course.  She takes a meta-brand perspective on the methodological issues that need to be considered when conducting qualitative analysis using software as elaborated upon in the book – di Gregorio, S. and Davidson, J. (2008) Qualitative Research Design for Software Users.
  

 

Susanne Friese

Dr Susanne Friese is a Lecturer at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Hanover, Germany, and has her own consulting firm. She teaches qualitative and quantitative methodologies to graduate and undergraduate students, offers workshops to train people in using CAQDAS and provides project consultation. She has a master degree in family resource management and marketing from Oregon State University (USA) and a PhD in Social Science from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. She is also an editor of FQS and a member of the Association for Qualitative Research.
  

 

Jeanine Evers

Jeanine Evers is a lecturer in qualitative methods at the University for Humanistics in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and an active member of the Dutch Working Group for Qualitative Research, KWALON. She manages the training department of this platform and gives workshops for the platform in Atlas.ti, qualitative interviewing, focusgroups and qualitative analysis. She obtained a Master degree in Cultural Anthropology (University of Leiden, 1990) and in Public Administration (Erasmus University Rotterdam, 2001). From 1990 onwards she has been doing mostly qualitative research in several policy domains concerning norms and values, health care and discrimination in the Netherlands and Curaçao.
  

 

Brit-Helle Aarskog

Brit Helle Aarskog is the Chief Scientific Officer of TextUrgy, which is a company that delivers semantic search technology. Her main research areas are within the fields of information access technology, digital asset management, methods and techniques for content analysis, classification principles, and design of software solutions supporting thematic/semantic text exploration. She is the holder of one Norwegian patent and one PCT patent pending application in EPO, USA and Canada. Since 2000, she has trained researchers and students at the University of Bergen (Norway) in using software like WordSmith and ATLASti in analysis projects, including how to benefit from a mixed used of various analytical approaches.
  

 

Silvia A. Silva

Sílvia Silva (Phd) is a Professor and Principal Researcher in ISCTE-IUL and CIS (Lisbon, Portugal) in the field of organizational psychology applied to occupational safety and well-being. She has been the coordinator of several projects, as for instance: "Coding, analysis and prevention of occupational accidents“, “Safety culture research and diagnosis in the Portuguese air control”, “Impacts of work accidents”. In her research, she use Atlas.ti for content analysis and grounded theory for studying Organizational Culture and Safety Culture. Since 2003, she has been training Master and PhD students, in qualitative research and using software’s like ATLAS.ti in content analysis and grounded theory.

  

 

Joan F. Fondevila

Dr. Fondevila Gascón is professor in the University Abat Oliba (UAO), University Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and University Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and director of the Cable Studies Center (CECABLE). He is research leader of groups about technology and education, broadband, communication and information sciences, journalism and digital journalism (new formats, new genres), cable and telecommunications, technology, politics and sociology, solidary economy and Broadband Society. The main goal is to discover and preview the digital society effects, taking account the bandwidth evolution (process of universalization, guaranteed flow by means of SLA and CIR) and the telecommunications and cable networks.
